For the love of Wales – let’s speak up about climate change

From the wildlife in the seas around Wales to threatened species around the world, climate change is the single biggest threat to the things we love.

From farmers to divers, we’re all affected.

Of course it’s a huge problem. But here’s the thing.

There is still time to turn things around – if we act now.

Next week there’s a great opportunity to act.

Remember all those Welsh MPs that got elected last month? We think we should remind them about climate change.

So next Wednesday, 17 June, I’ll join others from Wales in travelling to London for a mass lobby of our newly-elected MPs, along with people from right across Britain.

The ‘Speak Up For The Love Of’ event will be the biggest of its kind in the UK.

It’s our chance to tell our MPs – in person – that we want them to protect the things that matter.

This will be a big, colourful event. It’ll be fun, inspiring and may even boost your faith in humanity!

I’m hoping – and expecting – something like the big climate march I went to (also in London) last September.

That was an incredible day – it really got the message across that people care about our climate. And it was so good to know that so many others feel the same.

Yet again, WWF Cymru is linking up with other members of Stop Climate Chaos Cymru and organisations across the UK. There’s a real breadth of support – from Friends of the Earth to Oxfam, Cafod, Christian Aid, the National Union of Students and the Women’s Institutes.

So this event should be a step towards a better and safer world for us all.

So please come along next week if you can. It’s important that the Welsh MPs meet us, their own constituents, face to face in London.

We may have devolved Government in the Welsh Assembly, but MPs still make many of the important decisions affecting our climate.

If travel is an issue, remember that the Climate Coalition can provide some financial support with travel costs.  – for details please email Ollie at: admin@theclimatecoalition.org

I hope to see you on 17 June – please sign up today to take part.
