We all wake up each morning with the intention to be better, do better, and live better. But how? Well, to start with you can follow the little green frog…
The Rainforest Alliance’s green frog seal can be found on an array of agriculture and forestry goods, including tea, coffee, chocolate and paper – all of which come from tropical forests. A video for Sky Rainforest Rescue’s latest campaign – Blink and It’s Gone – brings to life the importance of making these small changes on a daily basis. With deforestation happening at the rate of 80 trees every four seconds in the Amazon, the need to shop for sustainable goods has never been so important.
Agricultural expansion is responsible for 70 per cent of global deforestation, therefore, the Rainforest Alliance’s green frog seal is your assurance that the goods and services were produced according to strict environmental, social and economic standards that curb deforestation, protect wildlife and improve conditions for workers, families and communities.
Around the world 1.6 billion people depend on forests for their livelihoods. The Rainforest Alliance works directly with farmers in over 40 countries, including the Amazon – essential to regulating the Earth’s climate.
So, what can you do to help?
Living mindfully is a start – from shopping for certified goods to saving water to recycling – your everyday choices can make a difference. The Rainforest Alliance is proud to have recently partnered with the Guardian. Over the next 10 months the Rainforest Alliance’s partner zone page will provide engaging stories, pictures and infographics that show the vital signs of our planet and how you can get involved.
After all, we are all vital to a better tomorrow.
