So Team Panda have been at it again…this time at The Royal Parks Half Marathon in London!

On Sunday 12 October 16,000 people took part in the capital’s prettiest half marathon. Our fabulous team of 17 runners had been busy preparing not only getting the miles under their belt, but getting creative with their fundraising.

Carlos De Oliveira used a panda suit to raise awareness and get as many donations as possible, the sillier the activity the better, as in his own words “every little helps!”

While Cathy Morrow used her wonderful artistic flare, creating beautiful sketches for people to buy, with all proceeds going towards WWF-UK. Want your very own sketch? Email teampanda@wwf.org.uk or take a look at Cathy’s fundraising page

On the morning of the event, our events team started early, but we were so happy to wake up and see perfect running conditions for our fabulous Panda’s. After RideLondon and battling with the aftermath of the hurricane, it could only get better.

We were based at miles 7 and 10 in Hyde Park, a cross over point, so we would see our fantastic runner’s go past twice. Seeing our runners go past is so exciting and we love seeing what a difference it can make to people on the way round. From first-hand experience, I know what a lift it can be to see a charity on the way round in a race, and Team Panda certainly make some noise!

One of our amazing runners said: “Royal Parks half marathon has a beautiful route, going past some of the city’s best sites. However nothing can beat getting a boost from some familiar faces on the way round, and that is certainly what Team Panda provides!”

After the race, the crew were able to welcome the Team Panda runners home with a “real” Panda hug… well almost real anyway. This provides a great chance to grab some memorable snaps from the day and of course show off your fantastic eco-friendly medal.

That’s yet another reason why we love Royal Parks – they share the same values we do and work hard to be as green as possible. Even the bananas handed out at the end of the race to the runners to replenish energy are Fairtrade.

We loved being a part of this year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon, and can’t wait to do it all over again next year! Why not register your interest to join us. This will mean as soon as our places are confirmed we will be in touch to let you know you have a place.

So eager you just can’t wait?

Why not join us at the Brighton Marathon. This is a fantastic event for runners and spectators, with an amazing atmosphere and of course fantastic Team Panda support. Just take a look at our video from last year.
